Swan Levine House kitchenCommon Areas
The Swan Levine House has a large front porch facing east for the glorious morning sun, library, and parlor on the first floor. The second floor has a sitting room with a television. Also, there is a patio and badminton court. There is also a complete printmaking facility with three etching presses and one lithographic press.

Building and Grounds
The almost 8,000 square foot home sits on approximately 3/4 acres with a large front yard. The Fahey family, owners of a gold mine south of town, built the home in 1867 in Gold Rush style. The house was purchased in 1872 by William Campbell the owner of a local dry goods store and bakery. Mr. Campbell rebuilt the house in 1895 after a fire in Queen Anne Victorian style. After the death of Mr. Campbell in 1903, two brothers, Doctors Carl and John Jones, purchased the house. They converted it to a hospital and named it after their father Dr. W.C. Jones. It ran as a hospital until 1968.
