Our Clientele
Annie’s draws a diverse group of people, including business travelers, who have come to enjoy the Bed and Breakfast experience and escape the anonymity of the larger lodging facilities.
Annie’s provides a home away from home – cozy, friendly and comfortable.
Bedrooms
Annie’s has four guest rooms – three are queen rooms with attached baths; all have showers, one has a large claw foot tub. The fourth room is smaller with a double bed and private bath “a quick dash across the hall” to the large claw foot tub with shower.
Breakfast
A sit-down, family style breakfast is served at nine. Typically, there is fruit (baked apples or pears for example), bacon or sausage, and an entrée of quiche, frittatas, or soufflés. Coffee is ready at 7:30 for the early risers, and hot water for tea is available all day and night. Arrangements can be made for business travelers requiring an earlier breakfast.
Common Areas
Guests gather in the cozy parlor with gas stove, outside on the upper deck and patio by the fish pond.
Building and Grounds
Annie’s, a Queen Anne Victorian built in 1890, has received a City of Grass Valley Historic Resource designation. The Horan family owned the property from the 1850’s. Annie was born here in 1861 and lived here continuously until her death in 1954. From 1900 until her death, she ran the home as a boarding house and Catholic retreat.

Location
Annie’s is located a short walk from Historic downtown Grass Valley with its many fine shops and restaurants, wine tasting, movie theater as well as live theatre, dance and music at Center for the Arts. The Nevada County fairgrounds are but a short 5 minute drive away.
